Happy Sunday, and Happy Father's Day to all of the dads out there!
Below are 6 journal prompts for you to explore, one for each dimension of your perspective.

Personal History
Our relationship with our father plays a powerful role in shaping who we become. Taking time to explore that relationship can bring clarity, healing, gratitude, and perspective.
Questions to ask yourself:
- How would you describe your dad?
- What was your relationship with him like growing up?
- How has that relationship changed over time?
- What is one way you strive to be like your dad?
- What is one way you intentionally choose to be different?
Environment
"I want to go home. Not the place, but the feeling." — F. Scott Fitzgerald
Where is home for you?
Beliefs
Beliefs are not just ideas.
They shape how we treat other people.
They influence who we fear, and who we trust.
Who have your beliefs taught you to fear?
Who have your beliefs taught you to trust?
Emotions
Since it’s Father’s Day, parents are really in focus this week.
If your parents are still with you, how does it feel to watch your parents grow older? What emotions come up for you when you see the changes in them?
And if you’ve lost a parent, what feelings come up when you remember them? How do you carry their presence with you today?
Relationships
I’ve always heard the phrase “the circle of life,” but I don't feel like I truly understood it until this past year. As my parents and grandparents have grown older, I’ve started to feel the weight (and the beauty) of that phrase in a new way.
Watching time quietly shift our roles, I began to understand just how cyclical this life really is. The caretakers become the ones who need care. And although that transition can be a difficult reality to face, it’s also an incredible privilege to be able to show up for those who once showed up for us.
As I sat at my grandpa’s bedside this week, his memory slipping but his family surrounding him, I was reminded that family, whether the one you're born into or the one you choose, is everything.
That’s what keeps the circle of life moving—loving, remembering, and being there for one another.
What does “the circle of life” mean to you?
Identity
Sometimes you have to get a little lost to find yourself.
When we're transitioning from one version of ourselves to the next, the path forward can feel unclear. You might second-guess your choices, question your direction, or wonder if you’re falling behind. But being lost isn’t always a setback.
I read a quote recently that said, “If the path is clear, you’re probably on someone else’s.”
That hit me.
Don't be afraid to get lost. I’ve found that sometimes being a little lost is where the most honest version of myself begins to emerge.
Are you feeling lost in any area of your life right now?
Until next week,
