Multi-Dimensional: Sweet Escapes

Seven more Sundays in the year, let's make this one count!

I’ve always been an avid Pinterest lover. Out of all the social media platforms, it’s the one that never fails to inspire me. Recently, I stumbled across a quote I’d pinned a while ago that said:

True self-care is not soft baths and chocolate cake. It’s making the choice to build a life you don’t need to regularly escape from.”

It hit me at the perfect time. Because right now... I’m sitting next to a waterfall in Hawaii, actively escaping.

Since I arrived here, I’ve caught myself avoiding my phone, my inbox, my routines, and several other things that tie me to the life I’ve built back home. That quote made me stop and recalibrate. It made me ask myself: What parts of my life am I trying to escape from? And what would it look like to rebuild in a way that I don’t need to?

I am sure that I am not alone in this, so I pose the same questions to you.

Below are 6 journal prompts for you to explore, one for each dimension of your perspective.

Personal History

What past version of you felt most at peace in your daily life? What was different then?

Environment

Does your home reflect the life you want, or the one you’ve settled into?

Beliefs

What inner narrative keeps you chasing rather than being?

Emotions

What emotions do you tend to numb through distraction or escape?

Relationships

How often do you escape through others instead of sitting with yourself?

Identity

What parts of you come alive when you disconnect from your usual routines?

Until next week,
