Multi-Dimensional: Stop performing and start connecting

Happy Sunday!

Below are 6 journal prompts for you to explore, one for each dimension of your perspective.

Personal History

"Children need heroes because heroes give hope; without hope they have no future."
— Geoffrey Canada

Who was your childhood hero?

Environment

Fernweh is a German word that means an ache for distant places. It is the opposite of homesickness. It's missing and longing for places you've never even been.

Where is a place you’ve never been, but feel drawn to as if some part of you already belongs there?

Beliefs

We are only ever as stuck as we want to be. Sometimes, the only thing holding us in place is the belief that we can’t move.

What story are you telling yourself about why things can’t change, and is it really true?

Emotions

Life is meant to be pondered, but it is also meant to be enjoyed.

What feelings come up when you slow down and allow yourself to enjoy life, rather than analyze it?

Relationships

In order to start connecting, we have to stop performing.

There is a loneliness epidemic unfolding in the world around us. The more I pay attention, the more I see how much of it we quietly choose. Not on purpose, but out of habit. We act like we’re fine. We pretend to have it all together. We hide the parts that feel too messy or too real. And without meaning to, we create distance from the very connection we crave.

How connected do you feel to those around you? What parts of yourself do you feel like you've needed to hide in order to be accepted?

Identity

Don't drown in the waters that make you gifted.

What parts of you feel like both a gift and a weight? How can you honor the depth of those gifts without letting them pull you under?

Until next week,
