Multi-Dimensional: Stick Season, old family photos, and three's.

What a week! The holiday's are always such a busy time, but I hope through it all— you are still taking time for you.

Below are 6 journal prompts for you to explore, one for each dimension of your perspective.

Personal History

I went to storage with my mom a couple of weeks ago to help her get her Christmas decorations. As we were loading up, I spotted several boxes of old family photos stacked in the corner.

I decided to bring them home with me, and since then, I’ve been slowly making my way through them. Going through these photos has made me realize how many people came before me to shape the life I know. So many stories, so many personalities. I’ve even come across some people I don’t really recognize, sparking a sense of connection to a past I never fully knew.

If you can this week, try to find an old family photo. Ask your parents or relatives to share a story about someone in the picture—someone whose story you might not know, but who helped shape the journey you’re on.

Environment

Creating an intentional space in just one room of your house can make a difference in your overall wellbeing.

Whether it’s a space for creativity, relaxation, or focus—what’s one room in your home that you’d like to elevate or invest in?

Beliefs

Our beliefs are shaped and reinforced by our experiences. Beliefs about ourselves, other people, and the world around us can’t grow or evolve unless we actively seek out new ideas and perspectives.

How many new perspectives have you exposed yourself to this year?

Emotions

On January 5, 2024, I was in a hotel room on the Las Vegas Strip, getting dressed to go out for a friend's birthday. As we were all getting ready, the song Dial Drunk by Noah Kahan started playing. At first it was just background music, and I’ll admit—it wasn’t my usual genre. But as I kept listening, something about it struck a chord and resonated so deeply with a part of me I hadn’t even realized needed to be heard.

Fast forward to the end of the year, and Stick Season became my most-listened-to album.

This album was more than just music for me—it was a companion. It helped me work through my deepest insecurities and face my darkest fears. It fueled my imagination, sparked creativity, helped me see those around me in a new light, and held space for my sadness as I navigated loss, aging, and the nostalgia of everything that had changed.

I danced to it. I cried to it. I laughed with it. I ran miles with it playing in my ears. I created alongside it.

This album pulled me out of my head and back into my body, helping me truly feel. That’s the power of music. It allows us to express what words alone never could.

What was your most-listened-to album or song this year? What emotions did it help you express?

Relationships

The people you surround yourself with are always moving you in one of three directions: they’re either elevating you, keeping you stagnant, or pulling you down.

Take a moment to audit the 5 people you spent the most time with this year. Which direction are they guiding you toward?

Identity

Curious.

Intuitive.

Determined.

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be? Are those the same three words you would have used to describe yourself at this time last year?

Until next week,
