Multi-Dimensional: Lullabies of longing

I envy the way artists and musicians are able to connect with people. Their words, tones, harmonies, and melodies send shock waves through souls. Tethered together with an unbreakable emotional bond for the duration of the experience. That’s all I’ve ever wanted. To connect, to be seen, to be heard, to belong. Just once, to feel that energy flow through me.

- My journal entry from 10/03/25

There’s a quiet ache that lives in this desire, and two questions I keep circling back to:

Where is my place in the world?
Why can I never seem to fully find it?

I’ve come to realize that these questions aren’t a flaw, but a signpost. They point to the kind of connection I’m meant to create, the kind that I long for. Maybe you feel it too. The restlessness, the reaching, the wondering if you’ll ever fully belong in the way you want to.

This week, I want to challenge you to sit inside that space instead of trying to escape it.

Perhaps we spend so long searching for where we belong that we forget we can build it. With words, with art, with action, with presence.

Below are 6 journal prompts for you to explore, one for each dimension of your perspective.

Personal History

When was the first time you remember feeling like you didn’t belong? How has that moment shaped the way you seek belonging now?

Environment

What elements of your environment could you shift to nurture connection instead of isolation?

Beliefs

What story do you tell yourself about your place in the world?
Is it one you still believe, or one you’re ready to rewrite?

Emotions

What feeling do you chase that always seems just out of reach?

Relationships

What truth about who you are do you most long for others to see?

Identity

If belonging started within you, not outside you, what version of yourself would you meet there?

Until next week,
