Multi-Dimensional: Head, Heart ... or Pants?

Happy Sunday!

Below are 6 journal prompts for you to explore, one for each dimension of your perspective.

Personal History

Our youth lives in our memories.
Places hold those memories, and within them, the stories of who we once were.

What place brings your childhood rushing back?
Ask your parents or someone in your family what place reminds them of theirs.

Environment

Metaphorically speaking, your environment is a toolbox for your mind. Every element is a tool that shapes how you think, feel, and grow.

As you think about the spaces you spend time in, what kind of tools are you giving your mind to work with?

Beliefs

It’s interesting how quickly our minds label the unknown or what we don’t understand as “bad.”

But sometimes, with time or perspective, that label fades.

What’s something you once saw as bad, but no longer do?

Emotions

In The Four by Scott Galloway, he talks about how each of the largest companies in the world each appeal to a different part of us.

Google is the brain. It's where we go to think, ask questions, seek truth. Facebook is the heart. A place for connection, love, validation. Apple and Amazon are desire. They appeal to the part of us that wants, craves, and consumes.

Reading this concept made me think, if companies know how to speak to different parts of us, what part are we primarily living from in our lives?

These are not just business strategies, they are emotional anchors for our perspectives.

When you're in your head, you’re often in logic, overthinking, problem-solving, or even anxiety.

When you're in your heart, you’re feeling love, grief, compassion, vulnerability.

When you're in your pants, you’re driven by impulse, thrill, craving, and desire.

Each center serves a different function and is vital to your survival. Knowing which one to lead from can change everything.

If you need to make a decision, lead with your head.
If you need to heal or connect, lead with your heart.
If you need to act, move, or create momentum, you might need to lead from desire.

The key is not to get stuck in one. When you get stuck in one your world narrows. Awareness of this concept lets you shift depending on what your life is asking of you.

In this chapter of your life, which center do you need to lead from? Your head, your heart, or your pants?

Relationships

We don't need to wait for stages, podiums, or ovations to honor the ones who have helped us rise.

If you gave a thank you speech for your life so far, who would be in it? Who has helped shape your story?

Identity

The critic?
The skeptic?
The supporter?
The motivator?
The challenger?
The dreamer?
The doubter?

Which character is the voice in your head?

Until next week,
