Multi-Dimensional: Dimensions of purpose

Happy Sunday!

What a week. I cannot believe that it is already September, and that fall is upon us. I hope you have been finding joy in the moments that this season brings.

This week, I want to talk about a word that simultaneously haunts and fuels us all: purpose. The other day, my husband and I were talking about happiness and its role in purpose. Which comes first? Does happiness fuel purpose, or does purpose fuel happiness?

That conversation sparked a bigger reflection. As we went back and forth, I realized that there are many ways to define purpose. For some, it lives in relationships and roles. For others, it lives in beliefs, ideas, and contributions. Purpose isn’t a blanket statement. It’s layered, and it shows up differently across each dimension of our perspective.

Just as we are multidimensional, so is our sense of purpose. This week, let’s explore purpose one dimension at a time.

Personal History

Looking back, when have you felt most alive, useful, or connected? What moments in your past still feel purposeful when you revisit them?

Environment

Where do you feel like your energy naturally has a purpose?

Beliefs

If you were to devote yourself to shaping one possibility for the world, what would it be?

Emotions

Which emotions point you toward your deepest sense of meaning?

Relationships

If your purpose was reflected back to you through the eyes of a loved one, what would they say it is?

Identity

How has your purpose evolved as you've evolved?

Until next week,
